The End of AD Starts With Lifestyle Medicine

Dr. Dale Bredesen, a pioneering neurologist who spent years researching the factors that contribute to Alzheimer’s Disease which are captured in the recent book "The End of Alzheimer’s: The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline" agrees: "the multifactorial, aggravated assault on the brain goes on for 15 to 20 years before someone notices symptoms that warrant medical attention. That means there is a very wide window for early intervention".

The foundation of Dr. Bredesen’s program, called ReCode, rests on addressing the 5 Pillars of Health. As a Recode certified practitioner, I used my training to develop a program designed to support the lifestyle change process for each of you that will allow you to move closer to the lifestyle habits that align with cognitive health using the 5 Pillars of Health as the foundation.

When we pay attention to what and how we eat, how much we move, how much we sleep, how connected we feel to others, and how we manage our stressors, we position ourselves for optimal wellness which means we give our body the best possible chance to age gracefully with a healthy mind and body.

Don’t get me wrong, this is hard work! I am well-equipt to support patients on this journey to help show them how to implement this protocol in their own lives. The first step is to acknowledge there is a concern with cognition and start building a team that can help you find and resolve the root causes.
